The President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili is satisfied with the quality of parliamentary debates. "It's a sign that our country and democracy becomes better and this is the way that we chose not long ago", - he said on Thursday, making an annual report on country's situation in the Georgian Parliament.

"We didn't intend to show off our achievements and give baseless promises", - said the president, noting, that Georgia being in the conditions of conflict and global crisis demands the truth without the superfluous optimism and without pessimism.

The president declared that he didn't agree with the representative of CDM (Christian-Democratic Movement) Giorgio Akhvlediani on the creation of new antimonopoly and employment services. "We can't afford a creation of new institutions in such hard times. Such institutions will not solve a problem, though I realize your concern about rising drug prices and we are ready to listen to your concrete proposals", he said.

"The biggest disaster for us would be an absence of electrical energy. Now we are supplied with electrical power and this is the result of our policy. Our enemies want to see the Georgia today without the lighting and heating, and if they would have an opportunity to reach it, they do it. It concerns our policy in the energy sphere and it includes the memorandum with Inter RAO UES. According to my request the opposition is acquainted with this document, but it's not final and we are very cautious on this issue", - said Saakashvili.

The president admitted mistakes during the school reform and stressed that most of them are corrected. "The man who doesn't work, doesn't make a mistake", he said.

Saakashvili has agreed with arguments of the opposition on worsening of the condition of middle class. "Of course it's bad, when qualified cadres lose their job, but this is the consequences of the crisis and we do all to solve this problem", - he said.

The president of Georgia hasn't agree with the definition "lost war", saying, that nothing ended yet. "Our enemy is not the Russian nation, but the policy of Russian government aimed at destruction of our state," he said.
