Azerbaijan's exports of aviation fuel to Georgia from January through October 2021 amounted to 12,000 tons, which 16.3 percent of Georgia's total aviation fuel imports, Trend reports, referring to the Union of Petroleum Products Importers of Georgia.
Thus, Azerbaijan ranked 2 among TOP-3 exporters of aviation fuel to Georgia over the reporting period of 2021, following Turkmenistan with 54.9 percent (40,300 tons).
Italy ranks 3-rd with 14.9 percent share (10,500 tons).
Meanwhile, the imports of aviation fuel to Georgia from January through October 2021 amounted 73,500 tons, which is an increase of 54.7 percent, compared to 47,500 tons over the same period of 2020.
“The significant increase in aviation fuel imports is due to the significantly increased number of tourists and visitors to the country as a result of the COVID-19 vaccination process, which in turn is directly related to the restoration of air traffic. This trend will continue in the following months,” the Union said.
