Georgia slightly decreases imports of petroleum gases from Azerbaijan

Georgia’s imports of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons from Azerbaijan in 2021 amounted to $256.4 million, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The figure decreased by 2.2 percent, compared to $262.3 million worth of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons imported from Azerbaijan over 2020.

The volume of imported petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons from Azerbaijan in 2021 also slightly decreased by 6.2 percent, compared to 1.6 million tons over 2020 – to 1.5 million tons.

The amount of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons exported from Azerbaijan to Georgia only in December 2021 amounted to $50.2 million, which is an increase of 44.6 percent, compared to $34.7 million over the same month of 2020, and an increase of 23.3 percent, compared to $40.7 million in November 2021.

Thus, Azerbaijan ranked first among top exporters of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons over 2021, followed by Russia ($96.8 million) and Kazakhstan ($1.1 million).

Georgia’s total imports of petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons from January through November 2021 amounted to $354.5 million, which is an increase of 12.5 percent, compared to $314.9 million worth of imports over 2020.
