Georgia reveals data on international visitors in Jan. 2022

The number of international visitors to Georgia in January 2022 amounted to 199,393 people, which is an increase of 471.2 percent, compared to 34,909 visitors over the same month of 2021, Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.

However, the current figure decreased by 68.5 percent, compared to 633,201 visitors in January 2020, and by 62.3 percent, compared to 528,678 people over the same month of 2019 (before the COVID-19 pandemic).

The number of non-tourist visits to Georgia in January 2022 totaled 22,321 people, which is almost 20 times more than 1,144 visitors in the same month of 2021. However, the current figure decreased by 79.6 percent, compared to January 2020 (109,512), and by 75.6 percent, compared to January 2019 (91,460).

Meanwhile, tourist trips to Georgia in January 2022 increased by 424.4 percent and amounted to 177,072 visitors, compared to 33,765 over the same period of 2021.

According to the statistics, the same indicator dropped by 66.2 percent, compared to 523,689 tourists in January 2020, and by 59.5 percent, compared to 437,218 tourists in January 2019.

Meanwhile, the total number of international visitors to Georgia in 2021 amounted to 1.8 million visitors, which is an increase of 7.7 percent, compared to 1.7 million over the same period of 2020.
