BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. The number of credit cards transactions in Georgia in March 2022 amounted to 49.2 million, which is an increase of 25.1 percent, compared to 39.3 million transactions over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The value of total payment cards transactions in Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 totaled 4.3 million Georgian lari ($1.4 million), which is an increase of 26.6 percent, compared to 3.4 million Georgian lari ($1.1 million) over the same month of 2021.
The same figure also increased by 13.1 percent, compared to 3.8 million Georgian lari ($1.16 million) in February 2022.
Meanwhile, the number of payment cards transactions within Georgia in March 2022 amounted to 45.7 million, while the value of transactions totaled 4 million Georgian lari ($1.3 million).
The number of payment cards transactions outside of Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 amounted to 3.4 million, while the value of transactions totaled 310,286 Georgian lari ($101,430).
