At least 19 private planes departed Saturday from a special terminal at Cairo airport, sources in the Egyptian capital said.
The planes are said to be carrying some elite Egyptian figures, including top business people. Among those leaving were Naguib Sawaris, an Egyptian telecommunications tycoon.
The airport has seen intermittent cancellations of services, in part owing to a curfew imposed on Cairo, dpa reported.
