At least 10 people were killed and 38 injured in two car bomb blasts in the Shiite Sadr neighbourhood in Baghdad on Tuesday, medics and sources at the interior ministry said.
One car exploded near a group of workers who were gathering on the side of the road. The second explosion took place shortly after in the same area, DPA reported.
Meanwhile, security forces dismantled a car bomb in the Alhurriya area, northern Baghdad.
Fears have grown among Iraqis over an increase in attacks after US troops completed their withdrawal from the country in December.
