The U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said that they are trying to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, Aljazeera reports.
Moon said to news conference held after the meeting with Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas that they are making efforts to ensure permanent ceasefire in Gaza, bring humanitarian aid to the region and open boundary checkpoints. Moon added that he had met with the heads of leading states to place international peacemakers in the region.
