Volume of cargo transshipment via Turkish Port of Mersin disclosed

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish Port of Mersin amounted to over 5.8 million tons in January-February 2020, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on March 30.

According to the ministry, during the reported period, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag through the Port of Mersin amounted to 343,853 tons, and by ships flying the flag of other countries – 5.5 million tons.

“In January-February 2020, cargo transshipment via Port of Mersin by transit was not carried out”, the ministry said.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports exceeded 62.4 million tons in January-February 2020.

During the reported period the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 4.5 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their country's flag made up 2.6 million, and by ships flying the flag of other countries amounted to 55.2 million tons.

In January-February 2020, over 12.5 million tons of cargo transshipment in transit were carried out through Turkish ports.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports exceeded 29.5 million tons in February 2020.

During the reported month the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.1 million tons.

In February 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through Turkish ports by ships flying their country's flag made up 1.1 million tons, and by ships flying the flag of other countries amounted to 26.1 million tons.

Over 6.3 million tons of cargo transshipment in transit were carried out during February 2020 through Turkish ports.
