Data on half-year cargo shipment through Turkish Kocaeli port announced

Over 31 million tons of cargo were transshipped through Turkey’s Kocaeli port during the first half of 2020, Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend .

The ministry said that ships flying the Turkish flags handled over 3.2 million tons of goods via Kocaeli port during 1H2020.

Meanwhile, 27.8 million tons of goods were shipped via the mentioned port by ships flying the flags of other countries.

As many 430,836 tons of cargo were moved in transit via Kocaeli port from January through June of this year, added the ministry.

In 1H2020, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports amounted to 179.6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons.

The volume of cargo transshipment through the Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of their countries amounted to 6.9 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 158.3 million tons.

Over 36.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the ports of Turkey during the first six months of this year.

In June 2020, the volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey amounted to 28.1 million tons. At the same time, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The volume of transshipment of goods through the ports of Turkey by ships flying their countries’ flags exceeded 1 million tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – to 24.6 million tons.

During the reporting month, 5.4 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey.
