Exports of defense products from Turkey to world markets decreased by 17 percent from January through September 2020 compared to the same period last year, amounting to $1.521 billion, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.
As noted in the department, the export of defense industry products makes up 1.4 percent of the country's total exports over this period.
"In September 2020, Turkey exported defense industry products worth $281.582 million to world markets, which is 80 percent more than in the same month in 2019," the ministry said.
Exports of defense products in September 2020 amounted to 1.9 percent of the country's total exports.
Over the past 12 months (September 2019 - September 2020), Turkey exported defense products worth $2.428 billion.
