Turkey sees 2M2021 decrease in cargo traffic at Adana Int'l Airport

The cargo turnover of Turkey’s Adana International Airport from January through February 2021 made up 3,863 tons, which is 44 percent less compared to the same period of 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

In the reporting period, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 3,635 tons, an annual decrease of 33 percent, while on international flights - 228 tons, a drop of 85 percent.

The passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 346,624 people, which is a decrease of 57 percent year on year. At the same time, passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 337,252 people (a decline of 52 percent), and on international – 9,372 people (a fall of 91 percent).

According to the ministry, the number of flights performed during the first two months of 2021 was 4,073, which is 37 percent less compared to the same period of 2020. At the same time, the number of flights performed on domestic lines was 3,949 (down by 29 percent), and on international lines - 124 (a plunge of 85 percent).

From January through February 2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to 10.6 million people, and the cargo turnover - 373,201 tons.
