Cargo transportation at Turkey's Adana airport reduces

The cargo turnover of Turkey’s Adana International Airport from January through March 2021 made up 6,305 tons, down by 32 percent compared to 1Q2020, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

In the reporting period, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 5,811 tons, an annual decrease of 19 percent, while on international flights - 494 tons, a drop of 76 percent.

The passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 575,378 people, which is a decrease of 45 percent year on year. At the same time, passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 558,782 people (a decline of 40 percent), and on international – 16,596 people (a fall of 87 percent).

According to the ministry, the number of flights performed during the first two months of 2021 was 6,503, which is 27 percent less compared to the same period of 2020. At the same time, the number of flights performed on domestic lines was 6,282 (down by 19 percent), and on international lines - 221 (a plunge of 81 percent).

In the first quarter of 2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to over 17.6 million people, and the cargo turnover – 600,433 tons.
