Around 592,958 tons of cargo were transshipped from Tunis via ports of Turkey from January through April of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, 122,556 tons of cargo were delivered from Tunis to the ports of Turkey by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 463,964 tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.
Meanwhile, 6,438 tons of cargo were delivered by ships flying the flag of Tunis to the Turkish ports.
Besides, 44,725 tons of cargo were transited from Tunis via the Turkish ports in the first 4 months of this year, the ministry said.
Totally, over 124.9 million tons of cargo had been transported through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.
Around 9.8 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the local ports. About 115.1 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flags of other countries through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.
Moreover, 24.5 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period. In general, 33.8 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in April 2021.
Furthermore, 2.7 million tons of cargo were transported by the ships flying the Turkish flag in April 2021. At the same time, 31.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports by the ships flying the flags of other countries.
Thus, over 6.3 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in April this year.
