Cargo turnover of Turkish Adana Airport surges

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 23

The cargo turnover of the Turkish Adana Airport amounted to 20,781 tons from January through July 2021, which is 50 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

In the reporting period, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 15,849 tons (an increase of 48 percent over the year), on international - 4,932 tons (an increase of 59 percent).

“The passenger traffic at the airport amounted to 1.6 million people, having grown by 14 percent on annual basis. At the same time, passenger traffic on domestic flights amounted to 1.48 million people (an increase of 19 percent), on international - 121,892 people (a decrease of 23 percent),” the report of the ministry reads.

According to the ministry, the number of flights performed was 17,903, which is 30 percent more than a year earlier.

At the same time, the number of flights performed on domestic lines was 16,576 (an increase of 35 percent), on international lines - 1,327 (a decrease of 13 percent).

The passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to 57.3 million people, and the cargo turnover – 1.7 million tons.
