Turkey reveals cargo volume handled from Tunisia in 8M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 20

Turkish ports in 8M2021 handled over one million tons of cargo from Tunisia, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry at the same time, 205,713 tons of cargo from Tunisia were delivered to ports by ships under the Turkish flag, and 860,234 tons by ships under the flags of other countries.

During this period, ships under the Tunisian flag delivered 9,872 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

Turkish ports handled 294,220 tons of transit cargo from Tunisia in 8M2021.

The ports of Turkey in 8M2021 handled 253 million tons of cargo.

In addition, during this period, the volume of cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 20 million tons.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 233 million tons.

Moreover, during the specified period, Turkish ports handled 50.2 million tons of transit cargo.

In August 2021, the ports of Turkey as a whole handled 34 million tons of cargo.

The ministry noted that in August 2021 the volume of cargo transportation by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.6 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 31.4 million tons.

Also, in August, Turkish ports handled 6.3 million tons of transit cargo.
