Turkey discloses freight traffic via local ports in January 2022

Turkish ports handled 33,337,392 tons of cargo in January 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

During this period, ships under the Turkish flag delivered 2,406,438 tons of freight, and ships flying the flags of other countries – 30,930,954 tons, said the ministry.

Meanwhile, Turkish ports transshipped 7,688,129 tons of transit cargo in the reporting period.

Totally, Turkey transported 386,396,718 tons of cargo in 2021 via local ports.

Moreover, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey through domestic ports amounted to 29,999,196 tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries reached 356,397,522 tons.

Furthermore, ports of Turkey transshipped 78,008,944 tons of transit cargo in 2021.
