Oil production down in Kazakh KazMunaiGas

The consolidated volume of oil and gas condensate production in Kazakh KazMunaiGas (KMG) group of companies amounted to 11.33 million tons in 1H of 2016, which is 0.4 percent less than in the same period of 2015, the company reported.

KazMunaiGas’ subsidiary KazMunaiGas Exploration Production decreased oil production by 0.6 percent to 6.08 million ton in the reporting period.
Tengizchevroil, where KMG has 20- percent share, produced 2.88 million tons of oil in 1H which is 2 percent more than in 1H of 2015.

Mangistaumunaigas, where KMG has 50-percent share, produced 1.56 million tons of oil, or 1 percent more than in 1H of 2015.
KMG Karachaganak produced 485,000 tons of oil or 10 percent less than in the same period of 2015, due to planned preventative maintenance works in 2016.

Kazakhoil Aktobe, where KMG has 50-percent share, produced 196,000 tons or 11 percent less than in the same period of 2015.
Kazakhturkmunai produced 110,000 tons of oil in 1H of 2016 or 9 percent less than in the same period of 2015, due to well shut-downs for technical reasons. Work is currently underway to bring well production back to its previous level.

KazTransGas produced 10,000 tons, or 17 percent more than in the same period of 2015 due to the commissioning of new wells in the Amangeldy field and the adjustment of production volumes on Zharkum field.

In 1H of 2016, the consolidated production of natural gas in the KMG group of companies amounted to 2.39 billion cubic meters, which 3 percent less than in the same period of 2015.

KazMunaiGas Exploration Production reduced gas production by 9 percent to 154 million cubic meters, which is 9 percent less than in the same period of 2015 due to the natural decrease in production as the field is in the final stage of development.
Tengizchevroil produced 898 million cubic meters.

Mangistaumunaigas produced 107 million cubic meters, which is 6 percent more compared to the same period of 2015 due to the increase in its own needs associated with the commissioning of the “Kalamkas” gas turbine power plant.

KMG Karachaganak produced 830 million cubic meters or 9 percent less compared to the same period of 2015 due to the planned preventative maintenance works in 2016.
Kazakhoil Aktobe reduced production by 5 percent to 155 million cubic meters.

Kazakhturkmunai produced 80 million cubic meters or 12 percent more than in the same period of 2015, due to the commissioning of Zapadnyi Elemes-94 well in 2Q of 2015.

KazTransGas produced 161 million cubic meters or 10 percent more compared to the same period of 2015 due to the commissioning of new wells on Amangeldy field and the adjustment of the production level of the Zharkum field.

KazMunaiGas is Kazakhstan's national operator for exploration, extraction, refining and transportation of hydrocarbons.
