The power distribution networks of 21 Turkish provinces will be transferred to the private sector before September 2013, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said on Wednesday, Anadolu reported.

The power distribution networks of 21 Turkish provinces will be transferred to the private sector before September 2013, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said on Wednesday, Anadolu reported.

The minister said that tenders for the privatization of the power distribution networks were previously held. These distribution networks will be controlled by the private sector by late August.

Earlier, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said that a record number of transactions on the privatization of state enterprises are expected to be concluded in Turkey in 2013. In particular, several hydroelectric power stations and power stations will be put up for privatization in 2013.
