Tehran, Iran, December 20
By Mehdi Sepahvand –- Trend:
There are many companies in Iran with internationally presentable products, but they need some expert marketing partners in order to export their products, where Azerbaijani partners can be the best choice, an Iranian holding manager told Trend December 20.
“In Iran we need international trade companies. We think Azerbaijani companies can do that for Iranian partners, where we produce and they export,” Amir Hossein Kaveh, deputy CEO for development at Sadid Industrial Group and secretary of Syndicate for Steel Pipe and Profile Producers of Iran said.
“There have been meetings with Azerbaijani sides. But they have been rather diplomatic and tourist meetings. We need operational meetings which aim at financial outcomes and cooperation,” he said.
Sadid is a holding company of producers of pipes. The producers’ output capacity is 18.5 million tons of pipe per year, 5 to 6 million of which comes as long-diameter pipes for water, oil, and gas.
Sadid has produced over 2,000 kilometers of gas and oil pipes as well as over 3,000 kilometers of water pipes. The products include 56 and 48 inch steel pipes of IGATs 1 to 9.
Iran and Azerbaijan can join hands to cover markets in Iraq and Russia in particular, Kaveh said, adding, SOCAR for example can make contracts with Iraqi sides and provide for the pipes from our companies.
He noted that Azerbaijani businessmen have made good progress in establishing trade companies in Russia. “They have launched agriculture trade zones around Moscow for example. They can help us also enter the market. Iran is not so powerful in international trade, but Azerbaijanis seem to have been born for it. We ask them to visit Iran and know the capacities so that we can cooperate in international markets.”
“Sadid has the capacity to provide for the needs of the entire region. We have pipe production lines in Mahshahr, Ahvas, Urmia, etc. Some of our companies also make pumps and turbines, such as PETCO in Tabriz which can export its products to neighboring countries.”
Kaveh said that Sadid has have written to SOCAR for some business meeting where the sides get to know each other better and find cooperation venues.
