OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier will arrive in Tashkent will official visit, press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
During the visit OSCE Secretary General will meet and make negotiations in the Oly Majlis (parliament), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, number of ministries and departments of republic.
Uzbekistan has been a member of the OSCE since 1992. The OSCE Liaison Office in Central Asia a was opened in Tashkent in 1995 on the initiative of the Uzbek side. In 1999, in connection with the opening of separate OSCE missions in the countries of Central Asia and Kazakhstan Liaison Office was renamed the OSCE Centre in Tashkent.
In July 2006 the government of Uzbekistan and the OSCE signed a memorandum of the establishment of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan.
At present, a total of 30 OSCE projects are being implemented in the country.
