Turkey is preparing to lift a number of sanctions against France imposed by Ankara due to discussion of a draft law criminalizing denial of the "genocide" by the Parliament of France, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in an interview with CNN Turk.

"Relations between Turkey and France are entering a new phase. The lifting of Ankara's sanctions against Paris will be discussed at the forthcoming bilateral meeting between the sides," Davutoglu said.

He said the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister to France is scheduled for July 5. The Minister also noted that some people tried to spoil the relations between Turkey and France, but the "bad period" has passed and the relationship between the two countries will develop further.

Relations between Turkey and France deteriorated after the decision of the French Senate to pass a bill providing criminal punishment for denial of "Armenian genocide".
