Lithuania strongly supports Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said at a meeting with Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius.
According to Vashadze, Lithuania supports Georgia's right to choose the organisation the country's citizens want to join.
The Foreign Minister stressed that the Lithuanian Prime Minister's visit on the eve of the NATO summit in Chicago is especially important. He said that an act of cooperation was signed between both foreign ministries covering a wide range of activity areas including in the field of economy and Georgia's integration into the EU and NATO.
"Our political contacts are at a high enough level. We feel Vilnius's support in the international arena and now need to intensify our economic relations, attracting Lithuanian investments into the country," Vashadze said.
