Georgian Interior Ministry denied the presence of 11 citizens of the country among the liquidated in a special operation in Lopota Gorge.

"The Ministry of Interior said that among liquidated during the raid was not 11 persons citizens of Georgia," Deputy Interior Minister Shota Khizanishvili told reporters. He stressed that "a number of issues of special operation conducted in the Lopota Gorge is under investigation."

"I can tell you that among the 11 people liquidated by us there is not a citizen of Georgia, - he said.

On Saturday social networks of Georgia reported that "liquidated fighters in a special operation in Lapatkuri are 19-20-year residents of the Pankisi Gorge."

They were allegedly Wahhabis and came from Georgia to Dagestan, from there wanted to go to Syria for supporting "opposition forces."
