In January-October 2013, Azerbaijan imported some 92,646 mobile phones and other devices running on wireless networks (tablet computers, cordless phones, etc.), for a total sum of $3,999,800, State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan told Trend on Dec.16.
The number of imported mobile phones in the country dropped by 31.62 percent compared to the same period of 2012 (some 135,485 mobile phones were imported in the same period of 2012), the State Statistics Committee said. In value terms, this indicator also declined by 39.71 percent.
On average over 9,200 mobile phones were imported monthly into the country. The monthly volume of the mobile phone market in value terms exceeded $399,000, the State Statistics Committee said.
