Azerbaijani poultry factory talks about problems

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 9

By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

Hajigabul Gushchulug poultry factory, located in Azerbaijan’s Hajigabul district, is currently experiencing difficulties in selling eggs, a source in the factory told Trend.

“Our products are mainly intended for export,” the source added. “Amid the coronavirus pandemic worldwide, supplies stopped due to the lack of orders from abroad. We previously supplied the products to Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan. Besides these countries, we planned to supply the products to Qatar and Dubai this year.”

“At the moment, there are a lot of unsold products in the warehouses of the factory,” the source said. “Small volumes are sold on the domestic market. Taking into account that eggs are perishable products, the factory suffers losses. We have reduced the prices for products to sell as much as possible domestically. Eggs are sold at 7-8 cents per piece.”

The factory monthly produced 300,000 eggs in 2019 and planned to increase this volume up to 500,000 in 2020.

Over 1,000 packages consisting of 360 eggs were exported to Dubai and a little less to Qatar in 2019.

Previously, the factory produced chicken meat, broiler chicken, but so far, the production process of these types of products has been suspended.

The products have a certificate of conformity issued by Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents.

The factory uses equipment of Russian, Ukrainian and Turkish production.
