Rescuers of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry have pulled six dead bodies from under the rubble as a result of search and rescue operations in the Erdish city, the ministry reported.

Rescuers of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry have pulled six dead bodies from under the rubble as a result of search and rescue operations in the Erdish city, the ministry reported.

In total, as a result of search and rescue operations in the disaster area, the Azerbaijani rescuers found 12 alive and 60 dead bodies under the rubble.

The earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale jolted Van city in Turkey at 3:41 am on Oct. 23. Tremors were felt in Diyarbekir, Batman, Sirnak, Mus, Erzurum, Bingol, Bitlis, Siirt, Mardin towns.

The number of victims of the earthquake as of Friday morning increased to 576, 2,600 people were injured.

According to the Republican Center of Seismic Service of the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the earthquake was felt at 3.5-3.0 points in Sederek, Sherur, Babek regions of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as in the Nakhchivan city. There are no damages in the Azerbaijani territory.
