Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 June /corr. Trend E.Babayev / The Leader of opposition Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP), Etibar Mammadov, has been invited to the congress of the U.S. Republican Party where candidature of John McCain will officially be put forward, ANIP press service reported to Trend .
The congress will take place from 31 August to 4 September in the Minneapolis Saint Paul city.
Within the program, the ANIP leader will meet with the officials of Republican Party and heads of parties from other countries who will attend the congress.
ANIP was the first party to receive registration in Azerbaijan in 1992. Etibar Mammadov had been the founder and chairman of the party until 2004. At Present, Mammadov is the deputy chairman of the International Democratic Alliance.
