Georgian Foreign Ministry welcomes the statement by the U.S. Department of State representative Mark Toner.
"The U.S. Department of State Official confirms that the U.S. government firmly supports a peaceful resolution of conflicts and restoration of Georgia's territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders," Georgian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement made by Mark Toner, representative of the U.S. Department of State, on April 30 states that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's visit to Abkhazia and so-called South Ossetia does not correspond with the principles of Georgia's territorial integrity.
Sergei Lavrov visited Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region (South Ossetia) on April 25-26.
