The Georgian NGO "People's Defender" spreads information about the facts of violence and arrest of the People's Assembly activists for the two-day-rally.
People's Defender monitored the recent events to prevent illegal actions and provide legal assistance to citizens on May 21-22, the statement said.
According to the organization, about 36 people were arrested. The location of some of them is still unknown.
The NGO sent its representatives and lawyers to protect the rights and dignity of detained citizens, as well as to collect information on possible illegal actions of the Interior Ministry's staff.
According to the results of monitoring, it was found over the two days that 14 of the detained people were sentenced to administrative detention for 1-3 months and six people to a fine worth 400 lari. The fate of the others is unknown.
