Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has received permanent representatives of several countries to the United Nations, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.

The Azerbaijani leader stressed the significance of the foreign diplomats' visit, saying it was a good opportunity for them to familiarize themselves with the country and contribute to developing the bilateral relations.

President Aliyev said Azerbaijan enjoyed good relations with the countries represented in the United Nations.

The President praised Azerbaijan's political relations with the diplomats` countries, emphasizing the importance of expanding the economic ties.
The Head of State said Azerbaijan was developing at a rapid pace, adding mutual investment could produce positive results.
He noted Azerbaijan had strong economic potential, and was capable of making huge investments in different continents.

The President said these opportunities could be explored during the diplomats' visit.
President Aliyev expressed confidence the diplomats` visiting one of Azerbaijan's regions would give them good impressions of the country.

Gambia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Susan Waffa-Ogoo said the diplomats were pleased to be visiting Azerbaijan.

She praised the activity of Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
Mrs. Waffa-Ogoo said the visit was of great importance in terms of exploring prospects for cooperation in a range of areas.
President Aliyev emphasized the significance of expanding the relations on the international scale.

The Head of State also highlighted the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
He pointed out the resolutions of the UN Security Council and General Assembly as well as other international organizations, which demanded an unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian military from Azerbaijan's occupied lands.

The President expressed regret over the fact "these documents remain on paper".
"We have to work together to create a mechanism so that such decisions were fulfilled."
President Aliyev said Azerbaijan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations was working actively to contribute to building better relations among peoples and countries.

The Azerbaijani leader told the diplomats to convey to their presidents his greetings and invitation to visit Azerbaijan.
