President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan today received the director general of the World Health Organization Margaret Chan.
Mrs. Margaret Chan expressed gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan and the President for high-level organization of the 61st session of the World Health Organization's Regional Committee for Europe. The WHO director General said she was happy to see the country's economic accomplishments it gained in the passed period. According to her, participation of 53 countries` representatives at this forum gives chance to closely get acquainted with the development processes in Azerbaijan.
Head of the Azerbaijan State underlined the importance of the 61st session of the World Health Organization's Regional Committee for Europe. President Aliyev assessed this forum as an opportunity to attract attention of the foreign delegations to the works done in the social life of republic, in particular in the health sphere. The Head of State expressed gratitude for support that WHO renders to Azerbaijan. At his words, the World Health Organization and Azerbaijan cooperates successfully and it will be continued in the years to come.
