Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov , and his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Salehi, discussed the Syrian crisis and Iran's nuclear negotiations in a meeting on Friday afternoon.
The ministers ,who arrived to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly' annual session, reconfirmed to insistance on a peace plan with no foreign intrusion.
Iran has been a steadfast ally to Syria's Bashar Assad as he tried to crush a popular uprising, while Russia has blocked the United Nation's efforts to pass resolutions, condemning the Syrian government's actions.
During the meeting Mr. Lavrov invited Mr. Salehi to Russia.
