China ready to assist quake victims in south of Iran

China Government announced Friday Beijingˈs readiness for offering the needed assistance to quake stricken regions of Iran, if such contributions are necessary, IRNA reported.

According to IRNA, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Hong Lee announced his countryˈs sympathy with the Iranian nation and government in his daily meeting with the press.

He said, ˈThe Government of China condoles with the quake victims in the south of Iran and sympathizes with those who have been affected in this disaster.

Hong Lee emphasized that his country is ready for forwarding the required assistance if the Islamic Republic of Iran would demand for them.

The Chinese media reported the 6.1 degree earthquake of Bushehr province which led to high casualties and material losses in their important news sections.

Several cities - Kaki, Kengan and Khormooj - were completely destroyed.

Over 70 aftershocks were registered in the quake-stricken city of Dashti since early Wednesday.

A killer earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale inflicted severe damage upon 12 villages in Shanbeh and Tasouj areas in Dashti on Tuesday.

The latest official death toll from the quake-stricken areas of Shanbeh, Tasouj and Kaki has increased to 37 while 850 have been injured.
