The campaigning as part of Russian presidential election is going on constructively and in line with the current legislation, coordinator of international observers group from Commonwealth of Independent States’ (CIS) Interparliamentary Assembly, First Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Parliament Ziyafet Asgarov said, according to Russian state news agency TASS.

The Russian presidential election is to be held on March 18.

“There are no particular violations currently. Our representatives have been to the headquarters of the presidential candidates, talked with their representatives,” Asgarov said.

According to him, the observers group from CIS Interparliamentary Assembly currently consists of 19 people – they are carrying out long-term observation over the election in Russia. The group will consist of 40 people by March 18, who will carry out short-term monitoring.

During the short-term monitoring the observers will accent their attention on compliance to the voting procedure, vote counting, and others.

Special attention will be paid to the in-residence voting, to be implemented in the elections for the first time, Asgarov underlined.
