The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tofig Abdullayev, presented his credentials at the General Secretariat of the OIC on February 4, 2007, Trend reports quoting Headquarter of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Receiving the letters of credence on behalf of the Secretary General, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Ezzat Kamel Mufti, congratulated the envoy on his appointment as Permanent Representative of his country to the OIC and looked forward to an era of closer bilateral relations between the OIC and Azerbaijan. The Assistant Secretary General and his guest also reviewed issues of common concerns and ways to enhance solidarity and joint Islamic actions.
