Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Aghayeva/ Sahib Mammadov, the press secretary of the local office of the UN High Commissar for Refugees and IDPs, has said that the reports on possible launch of military action against this country has not reflected in the statistics of immigration from Iran to Azerbaijan as yet. Mr. Mammadov was commenting on unconfirmed information of a great number of refugees, who are allegedly crowded on the Azerbaijani-Iranian border, and who want asylum from the territory of neighbouring Azerbaijan.
According to him, the local office of the UN High Commissar for Refugees and IDPs is working as normal, and no additional appeals relating to this issue have been received by the Baku office.
