Weapons and material that promotes religious radicalism have been found at the store, owned by the chairman of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan detained by law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan, said the press service of Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry issued on Saturday.
In connection with the information received by the Interior Ministry on order by the chairman of the Islamic Party, which has no state registration, Movsum Samedov to his cousin Dayanat Samedov, who lives in Guba district, to organize a riot, public disorder and calling people for jihad, the Office for combating organized crime conducted operational-search activities on Saturday , said the press service.
During the inspection of electrical goods store, owned by Mardan Samedov, where Dayanat Samedov works, three grenades were found under the safe as well as ammunition for automatic weapon and electronic media containing information that promotes religious radicalism were seized in his house, the report says.
Dayanat and Mardan Samedov had been detained as suspects. A criminal case concerning the fact was initiated under the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, the report said.
