Azerbaijan, Baku, May 19 / Trend I. Isabalayeva /

The courts have considered more than 2,000 cases on illegal constructions on the territory belonging to SOCAR on the basis of documents prepared by SOCAR and made a decision in favor of SOCAR, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said in an interview with media.

"We try not to demolish but to build new houses," he said. "The following faults were found --municipalities illegally provided the land where the houses were built. The issue of demolishing the houses in these areas is not in the agenda."

He said the new structures on territories belonging to SOCAR hamper oil extraction and refining. Moreover, living in these areas is harmful to human health.
