The Steering Committee on the execution of the framework document related to labour, employment and social protection established according to the decision of the second Conference of the labour ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold its first session on June 17-18, of the current year, the press-service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Azerbaijan said.

Senior officials from the relevant government agencies of member countries, the OIC Secretariat and subordinate bodies, representatives of the International Labour Organization are intended to attend the event.

The discussion of the Action Plan prepared in order the execution of the Framework document envisaging the cooperation in the fields of labour, employment and social protection and submission the relevant report to the next Conference of Labour Ministers of the OIC are planned by the members of the Steering Committee in the session.

Note that, the Framework Document on the labour, employment and social protection issues adopted at the second conference of labour ministers of the OIC held in our country last year implies long-term cooperation priorities among the member states in these areas.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan is chaired to the Steering Committee established in order to coordinate the execution of the document and represented by the relevant government agencies of 9 member states of the OIC (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Indonesia, Guinea, Cameroon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Malaysia) until the next conference of labour ministers to be held in 2015.
