Award ceremony was held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku Feb. 21 for the second finals winners of the FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics.
The ceremony was held for the winners among men in rings event, pommel horse and floor exercises and among women in vault and uneven bars events.
The award ceremony was attended by the Vice-President of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Altay Hasanov, member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG), Secretary General of Japanese Gymnastics Association Morinari Watanabe, head coach of Azerbaijani national rhythmic gymnastics team Mariana Vasileva, president of the women's artistic gymnastics technical committee at International Federation of Gymnastics (FIG), female Olympic champion Nellie Kim, member of the Technical Committee in Men's Artistic Gymnastics from Germany, Holger Albrecht and Secretary General of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation Farid Gaibov.
Azerbaijani gymnast Oleg Stepko won gold, silver and bronze in various exercises within the tournament. Female Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Nekrasova also won bronze in the floor exercises.
Awarding of specially established prize of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation AGF Trophy for the best performance was also held. Japanese gymnast Kenzo Shirai was awarded among men, and female representative of Uzbekistan Oksana Chusovitina was awarded among women.
The awards were given by Vice-President of Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) Altay Hasanov and head coach of Azerbaijani national rhythmic gymnastics team Mariana Vasileva.
The FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics kicked off in Baku Feb. 19 and ended Feb. 21. As many as 45 male and 22 female gymnasts competed for medals in apparatus finals of the World Challenge Cup.
