A group of Japanese gymnasts, who took part in the FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics in Baku, visited today the Baku Gymnastics School.

Such famous gymnasts as three-time world champion Kenzo Shirai and world champion Kazuma Kaya were among the School's guests.

The guests viewed training facilities, conditions created for juvenile and young gymnasts, watched their training and shared own experience with local coaches.

"Excellent conditions have been created for young athletes at the school," said the Japanese coach Takuya Nakase.

"The availability of such specialized gymnastics schools shows that this kind of sport is rapidly growing in Azerbaijan," he added.

"I watched [Azerbaijani athlete] Oleg Stepko's performance on uneven bars until the end. He did it very well and I think Stepko will be one of the main rivals to our gymnasts at future championships and competitions," said Nakase.

In turn, deputy director of the Baku Gymnastics School, Shahin Kazimzade said it is a great honor for the Gymnastics School to receive world famous gymnasts, including the three-time world champion and the AGF Trophy Cup winner, Kenzo Shirai and others.
