The experts of the �ODIT France’, Department of Tourism Development under the French Tourism Ministry, plans to pay a next visit to Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism told Trend.
It will be the second visit of the experts to Azerbaijan to design the strategic plan on the development of the tourism in the country.
The experts visited Baku, Absheron, Guba, Shaki and Lahij, got familiar with tourist opportunities of the regions during the first visit organized by the French embassy and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Youth, Sport and Tourism in June.
The experts held meetings at the Ministries of Youth, Sport and Tourism, as well as Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry to discuss the development of the internal and foreign tourism, training of the employees of the national tourist companies, receiving of the foreign tourists, service, and the improvement of the infrastructure.
The visits are carried out at the instruction of the French Senate. The decision on carrying out the visit was made at the Versailles meeting of the chairmen of the South Caucasus parliaments, which was held in November 2004.
The objective of the visit is to analyze the tourist opportunities of the South Caucasus countries, study culture monuments and develop strategic plan.
�ODIT France’ is due to take into consideration the inventory of the culture monuments carried out by the UNESCO in the countries, stimulate the regional cooperation through tourism and present suitable proposals.
