Azeri national sambo team won three awards at European championship that recently ended in Beograd.
Trend reports that Islam Guseynov became the winner in a weight category up to 52 kg through defeating tough Vshangi Kuzanashvili of Georgia in final. Elchin Mailov (57 kg) and winner of continents tournament Hakim Nazaraliyev (62 kg) have reached the final and yielded to Russian sportsmen Gennady Ilyin and Ilya Khlybov, respectively. At the same time, Vasif Safarbekov (100+ kg) gained the third place after being defeated in semi-final.
Russian sportsmen, which won in total seven golden, six silver and five bronzes medals, remained beyond comparison.
