Azeri Justice Minister is Elected Vice President of International Anti-Corruption Organization

During the 1st conference of the International Anti-Corruption Organization (IAO), the Azerbaijani Justice Minister Fikret Mammadov was elected the Vice President of the Organization, Trend reports quoting the Press-Service of the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry.

The Association of the International Anti-Corruption Bodies was created through the initiative of the People's Republic of China and the U.N. in order to concentrate the international efforts and co-ordinate the activities of all bodies to combat corruption in the world. Azerbaijan is one of the organizers of the organization because it attaches a great importance to the fight with terrorism.

Azerbaijan was represented in the event bringing together nearly 1000 representatives from 137 countries around the world, including Justice Ministers, Interior Ministers, Prosecutor Generals and Heads of international organizations by the delegation headed by the Justice Minister Fikret Mammadov.

Making a speech in the 1st meeting of the conference, Mammadov informed the participants about the reforms and works done in Azerbaijan with regard to the fight with corruption.

In addition, the participants of the conference were made aware that in result of the Armenian aggression, 20% of the Azerbaijan territories have been occupied and more than 1 mln Azeri people have became refugees and internally displaced persons in their own country. The speech of the Minister in English and Russian languages, and other other documents were presented to the participants.
