The turnover of new generation online cash registers in Azerbaijan in 9M2021 increased 1.9 times compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing the State Tax Service (STS) under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
According to the STS, the turnover through online cash registers amounted to 11.1 billion manats ($6.5 billion).
"As of today, 48,169 new generation cash registers are registered in the country. Their use made it possible to make calculations more transparent, prevent the illegal circulation of goods and ensure control over trade," the STS said.
In addition, it is reported that as of October 1, 2021, the number of active taxpayers in Azerbaijan increased by 5.5 percent and amounted to 650,086 people.
"During the reporting period, the number of active VAT payers increased by 13.7 percent and reached 33,141 people. The number of active economic objects also increased by 6.9 percent, reaching 178,511," the STS said.
Earlier it was reported that the State Tax Service fulfilled the forecast for revenues to the state budget by 120.2 percent in 9M2021. The amount transferred to the budget in excess of the forecast amounted to 1.27 billion manats ($747 million). In total, over 6.354 billion manats ($3.7 billion) were transferred to the state budget in the reporting period.
