BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 15. Design, construction of Azerbaijan’s Horadiz-Agband railway line and technical control are carried out by Azerbaijani and Turkish companies, Trend’s Karabakh bureau reports.
According to the bureau, the length of the railway line along the axis is 110.4 kilometers. It is planned to build nine stations on it: Horadiz, Marjanly, Mahmudlu, Sultanly, Gumlag, Hakari, Minjivan, Bartaz and Agbeand.
Building about 300 artificial engineering structures on the railway line, including three tunnels, 41 bridges and seven overpasses is also planned.
Work on the construction of the railway is being carried out in parallel with the demining process.
Construction and installation works are carried out in three stages.
The first stage covers a section of the railway with a length of 30 kilometers and the stations of Horadiz, Marjanli, Mahmudlu and Soltanli. Earthworks within the framework of the first stage were completed by 97 percent, the construction of artificial structures was completed by 93 percent, and the elements of the track’s superstructure - by 80 percent. In general, 89 percent of work on this section has been completed.
The second stage covers the section of the railway line from the 30th to the 85th kilometer and the stations of Soltanli, Gumlag, Hakari and Minjivan. At this stage, in general, 17 percent of the work has been completed. Earthworks have been completed by 20 percent, the construction of artificial structures have been completed by 22 percent, and the elements of track structure - by five percent.
The third stage covers the section of the railway from the 85th to the 110th kilometer and the stations of Minjivan, Bartaz and Agband. Currently, preparations are underway for the demining process along the entire length of the site.
The implementation of the railway construction project, the foundation laid by President Ilham Aliyev on February 14, 2021, is scheduled to be completed in 2023.
