Volume of cargo transportation by Turkish port of Bandirma disclosed in 1H2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. The port of Bandirma, located in the city of Balikesir (Türkiye), received 2.5 million tons of cargo from January through June 2023, Trend reports via Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the port of Bandirma transported 107,310 tons of cargo by ships under the flag of Türkiye and 2.4 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.

"The Turkish port of Bandirma transported 120,555 tons of transit cargo from January through June 2023," the ministry said.

Meanwhile, the ports of Türkiye received 33.7 million tons of cargo in June.

Cargo traffic to domestic ports on ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.9 million tons during this period.

"Cargo transportation of ships under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 30.8 million tons," the ministry said in a statement.

In addition, 5.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in June 2023.

According to the ministry, Turkish ports received 194.5 million tons of cargo in the first half of 2023.

Cargo acceptance by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 14.3 million tons from January through June 2023, and by ships under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 180.1 million tons.

According to the available data, the ports of Türkiye transported 34.9 million tons of transit cargo from January through June 2023.

In general, Türkiye's ports received 394.9 million tons of cargo in 2022.

Moreover, cargo acceptance by vessels under the Turkish flag amounted to 28.4 million tons during this period.
