BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. TotalEnergies decreased its refining throughput by 7 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2023, Trend reports.
Thus, the company's refining throughput in the reporting period totaled almost 1.5 mb/d, compared to 1.6 mb/d in 3Q2022.
According to the company, this decline was primarily a result of planned maintenance and unexpected shutdowns at both the Port Arthur refinery in the US and the Antwerp refinery in Belgium, despite an uptick in refinery throughput in France.
However, as the quarter progressed, the utilization rate for processed crude oil increased to 84 percent, TotalEnergies noted, adding that this progress was achieved thanks to improved availability in French refining operations.
Over the last nine months of the current year, TotalEnergies' daily refinery throughput totaled 1.456 mb/d - down by 3 percent year-on-year (1.497 mb/d in 9M2022).
