14 development projects were inaugurated in Markazi Province with Iran's First Vice President Mohammed-Reza Rahimi in attendance.

IRINN news network reported the projects included eight power transmission and distribution stations costing over $56 million in addition to road projects.

The first phase of Saveh-Hamedan freeway was also inaugurated.

The freeway is 60 kilometers long and starts in Saveh and is connected to Gharqabad. The project is 175 kilometers long in total, with two northern and southern lanes. 90 kilometers of its southern lane has been completed.

By completing the whole highway driving accidents in the Saeveh-Hameddan route, which is one of the most perilous roads of Iran, are expected to decrease.

Moreover with the completion of this highway the distance between western regions and central and northern regions of the country will decrease and connections with Iraq, Syria and the Mediterranean countries will be easier.
